About this event

Depart: June 21st at 10am from Local Oak Brewery in Winterville (you can park your car overnight on the street).

Route options
: We have put together three route options: An 11 mi each-way road route (here), a 25 mi each-way road route (here) or a 40 mi each-way mixed-surface route (here). You are also welcome to DIY your own and meet us there! Since it's the longest day of the year, it's a perfect time to spend as many hours on your bike as possible, right? You will have the opportunity to tell us which route you'd like to do (or if you plan to create your own) when you register. You can also choose to do a different route on the way back.

Camping: We will be camping at Contentnea Creek Time for Science in Grifton. There are restrooms, water, and power outlets in the visitor center, though no showers. See below for our recommended packing list. The site has picnic tables and a fire pit, and we'll provide firewood.

Meals: We will provide group dinner and breakfast, as well as campfire s'mores. You will have an opportunity to let us know about dietary preferences during registration. You are also welcome to bring your own food!

Friends/family: Have family members who would like to join in the camping fun but skip the bike ride? They are welcome to join! Please have them register (select the family/friends option under route preferences) so that we have an accurate headcount.

Transporting your gear: In its purest form, bike camping is all about using what you have, and the options are endless! Put your stuff in a backpack, stuff it into a dry bag strapped to your bars, use a framebag, or load up those panniers or seatpacks. Need to borrow gear? Let us know during registration what you need, and we'll see what we can set you up with.
