Thanks to all those who braved the poor weather forecasts and came out for our 7th Annual Toys for Tots event on Sunday, November 18th, 2012. Our luck on good weather appeared to be running out, however, anyone who came out for the event learned otherwise. Appart from a few minutes of very light rain we basically stayed dry all day and the only attendees to really suffer were the road riders who had to deal with all the wind. Out on the trail it was very comfortable and made for super racing conditions.
We still collected MANY toys for the
Toys for Tots Foundation and it felt good to do it! This is always a great time of year to support such a good cause.
A special thanks (as always) has to go to Christy Deardorf for her assistance with race organization throughout the ENTIRE day as well as Bob Jones and Josh Pitzer for getting the trail ready and Kieran Finney and Greg Jarrell for preparing the road course. Thanks (again) to Stacy and Todd Radcliff for cooking and serving food to the participants - it was great food as usual! Thanks to EC Velo for funding the post ride eats and to the Bicycle Post. Thanks to Christine Strom for once again creating some really awesome trophies for the mountain bikers!! Finally thanks to all the other volunteers that helped out before, during and after the event.
