CCC volunteers crtically needed
Paul97
Folks, it may be too late to get help, but you all need to know that we have a club event taking place tomorrow. A number of members are riding and that's fine. The number of members who have responded to numerous requests for help is disappointing. At this point, we have around 20 volunteers... 4 are ECU students who were persuaded to help by their professor... we have three young teens who have been volunteered by their parents.... we have 3-4 wives who are helping their husbands out... So over half of our helpers aren't even club members!
I have heard from a couple of people today that they will not be able to help out because of illness. So right now, I have 1 SAG vehicle when we really could use 4; Mark Knowlton who will have organized all the food and drink, and filled water containers at the crack of dawn is in the position of having to man a rest stop for a fairly significant part of the day. And the only solution I can see to our SAG problem is for me to drive SAG after having spent the early part of the morning organizing registration.
If there is anyone out there who finds themselves with 2-3 hours free tomorrow we can surely use help. Driving a vehicle along the route to help out riders in trouble would be the primary need at this point. Please call me if you can help. 341-8184...

Paul,
Sorry you still looking for SAG drivers.  I had hoped that you filled the last gaps after the last email I sent out.  I should be able to help you out, at least for a while after lunch.  My plans are a little in flux based on the weather and what my son wants to do.  I had hoped to ride the 30 mile loop with him, but I don't think that will go down if it is raining.  Anyways, I will find you in the morning and see how things are looking.  I am further hopeful that you get some walkup volunteers, particularly if the weather is not so hot.

Sad thing is my wife volunteered to help so I posted on here a few days ago that she could do so. She asked me today if I knew what time she was needed and I told her no. She asked me if she was even needed and I said I don't know. I told her not to help since no one responded to my post and to get some other stuff taken care of instead. I thought about it and then told her to come out between 830 and be available until 12 if needed. Keep in mind I have a 6 year old to manage. Have there been others that have volunteered but have yet to receive instructions? You might be short more than you know.
